Coney Dune is a comfortable, well equipped traditional beach chalet. It has 2 bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. It is set with others on the sand dunes (‘towans’) above the mouth of the Hayle River on the North Cornwall coast, looking south and west across the bay to St Ives. As the chalet is right above the beach, the sea and river views are terrific. The huge panorama stretches from Lelant church and golf course on the far side of the river, round to the island lighthouse at Godrevy.

The chalet was remodelled and refurbished over winter 2020/21 to a very high standard. You can sit (or lie in bed!) and watch kitesurfers and swimmers on the beach, walkers on the coast path, the tide coming in and out, the coastal train from Lelant to St Ives, and, of course, marvellous sunsets, from all rooms and from the very private deck and garden. It is a short walk down to glorious Hayle beach which, with its 3 miles of golden sands, is reckoned to be one of the great beaches of Europe. Further along the beach is Gwithian, famous for surfing, and Godrevy Point and lighthouse, owned by the National Trust and well known as a seal sanctuary.

Riviere Towans is approached via the village of Phillack with its pretty church and the famous Bucket of Blood pub. It is a great location for all Cornish attractions. There is a convenience store 5 minutes walk from the chalet and M&S food, Asda & Lidl and several good restaurants are under a mile distant. There is parking adjacent to the chalet.
