The Location
The holiday park is one of the oldest in the country, with the first chalets constructed in the early 1920s. Now a beautiful site with a vast range of unique, quirky and privately owned accommodation, including beach chalets, bungalows and lodges. Many have stunning sea views and all are within a few minutes walk of the beach.
On the doorstep
Walk the coastal path at low tide all the way along the beach from Hayle river mouth to the Cliff tops of Godrevy and the surf break at Gwithian where you’ll find great food and drinks from cocktails to coffees, ice creams and fresh seafood at the local cafes and restaurants.
For those seeking surf, beginners to experienced surfers and bodyboarders can enjoy doorstep breaks at Hayle Rivermouth and Mexico Towans, both within walking distance of the park. Paddle boarding and kayaking on the Estuary, as well as kitesurfing and windsurfing are popular all year round.
Hayle is home to the RSPB Hayle Estuary Reserve, Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Hayle Lido, ice cream parlours, gift shops, great food (including Cornwall’s best Pasties from Philps), pubs and supermarkets.
Further Afield
Take the coastal train from Lelant to St. Ives, and visit The Tate & Barbara Hepworth museums. Visit Newlyn Harbour and Fish market for the best in Cornish Fish. Wander around the historical market town of Penzance, taking in the Harbour and Egyptian House or take a day trip to Lands End and coastal walk to Sennen Cove.
Find your way to Knill's Monument and Steeple Woodland Nature reserve, a 40 acre public open space which overlooks St Ives Bay before making your way down to Carbis Bay for fabulous food, drinks and its sheltered beach.
Cornwall has always been a favourite of artists, writers and film producers and its rugged coasts and beautiful coves have featured in numerous films and TV series most recently, the popular Poldark series. The chalet was amazing and the views were incredible. Very close to the beach. The kitchen has everything you would need. There are also lots of table games to entertain. We recommend it as it is affordable.

Ocean Swell is a lovely chalet, which is very well equipped. The view to the beach is beautiful and having a balcony with a table and chairs is a real bonus. Kingsize bed was very comfy and bedding and linen provision is really helpful.

A really great place with pretty much everything you need. Was clean and tidy and the host seemed helpful even though I never needed anything. Towels and linens provided along with blankets which was nice. Location is great and even though there were other cabins it still felt private and peaceful. Nice view of the sea. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was finding the cabin which was a bit difficult because of how they are arranged but apart from that it was fine.

Great location, great view of the sea from the new wooden terrace, fantastic sunsets. Very tasteful furnishings and complete equipment. Appropriately large for four people, more ambitious for more. A little storage space in the first bedroom.

Very pleased with our stay, the best sea view ever, perfect balcony, close to the beach 4 min to walk, very important for pregnant women and 5 year old child, much staff to carry to the beach wasn't a problem. Amazing communication with the host. Accommodation had all we needed. Location is perfect, we were able to visit many places within max 20 min drive. All area very quite, didn't heard any neighbours, very welcome community. Playground for kids also was important for us. Bluff pub within 3 min to walk serving amazing food also have a playground kids are busy and you able have a romantic moment to meet the sunset. Room N 1 need some rails for clothes as no space for it at all and one couple was disappointed. For 4 adults and 2 children wasn't enough space, have to move big table from outside to be able to fit all of us at the table. All this little bits didn't ruined our stay and all holiday in general. Very happy.

“If you are after a place close to the beach then this is perfect, cool little place that sleeps 6 with everything you need in it, proper beach side place with a pub between you and the beach, perfect”

A unique place of peace and natural beauty. The wonderful view, which stretches from the estuary at Hayle to Godrevy Lighthouse, includes 3 miles of golden sands. It is approx. five minutes walk through the dunes to the beach. The bungalow has free parking, but it is not allocated. The short walk from it to the sea takes you through interesting and varied styles of property. Hayle beach extends three miles from Godrevy Lighthouse to the Hayle Estuary. It has its own café, pub, toilets, shop and is life-guarded during the main season. There are many quaint villages, seaside towns, harbours and tourist attractions within easy driving distance, plus no end of spectacular scenery. The Cornish coastal path can be found on the edge of the site. We have had many happy holidays in Ocean Swell.

This was our third time at Riviera Towans. Probably the best one as we were lucky with the weather. We stayed in D50 Ocean Swell. Lovely chalet looking over the sea to St Ives. 3 bedrooms, two with bunks, good shower, 2 comfy sofas and a well stocked kitchen including a dish washer. As other reviews have said, it's a few minutes walk to the lovely long sandy beach. We walked along it one day for two and a half hours, paddling in the pools and picking up shells. Not far from Penzance and St Ives. Loads of supermarkets close by including Lidl, Aldi and the Co-op. Also Warrens bakery. Best Cornish pasties around. If you don't fancy cooking there is a Brewers Fayre nearby or the Bluff Inn which is near the beach. That has an amusement arcade in it. Take a visit to St Michael's Mount in Marizion. Get to it either by boat if the tides' in, or walk along the causeway. Lots of steep steps and climbing involved, so not suitable for people that don't walk well. A great day out. Looking forward to returning next year.
