The Location
The holiday park is one of the oldest in the country, with the first chalets constructed in the early 1920s. Now a beautiful site with a vast range of unique, quirky and privately owned accommodation, including beach chalets, bungalows and lodges. Many have stunning sea views and all are within a few minutes walk of the beach.
On the doorstep
Walk the coastal path at low tide all the way along the beach from Hayle river mouth to the Cliff tops of Godrevy and the surf break at Gwithian where you’ll find great food and drinks from cocktails to coffees, ice creams and fresh seafood at the local cafes and restaurants.
For those seeking surf, beginners to experienced surfers and bodyboarders can enjoy doorstep breaks at Hayle Rivermouth and Mexico Towans, both within walking distance of the park. Paddle boarding and kayaking on the Estuary, as well as kitesurfing and windsurfing are popular all year round.
Hayle is home to the RSPB Hayle Estuary Reserve, Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Hayle Lido, ice cream parlours, gift shops, great food (including Cornwall’s best Pasties from Philps), pubs and supermarkets.
Further Afield
Take the coastal train from Lelant to St. Ives, and visit The Tate & Barbara Hepworth museums. Visit Newlyn Harbour and Fish market for the best in Cornish Fish. Wander around the historical market town of Penzance, taking in the Harbour and Egyptian House or take a day trip to Lands End and coastal walk to Sennen Cove.
Find your way to Knill's Monument and Steeple Woodland Nature reserve, a 40 acre public open space which overlooks St Ives Bay before making your way down to Carbis Bay for fabulous food, drinks and its sheltered beach.
Cornwall has always been a favourite of artists, writers and film producers and its rugged coasts and beautiful coves have featured in numerous films and TV series most recently, the popular Poldark series. Whether it is a relaxing break or a more action packed holiday you are seeking, Toms Holidays at Riviere Towans is the ideal destination.
Winter stays at Riviere Towans
Riviere Towans is a great choice for your winter break, but it’s also the period that our owners tend to build and renovate, and when essential land maintenance and roadworks are done. Disruptions and sound may affect neighbouring properties, so please get in touch with us before booking if you are concerned.
The winter season runs from the 1st November until the 1st April OR a week before Good Friday, whichever is earlier.
All the properties we manage are self-contained and self-catering. All the kitchen equipment you will require for your stay is provided in the property. All properties include a microwave, TV, iron and heating to name but a few of the basics. A large number also include washing machines but do check the property particulars above.

Trezaren sits majestically on the cliff overlooking St Ives Bay. You have a wonderful view across the bay and also the estuary which is worth booking for this alone. The chalet is just off the main access road adding to a more secluded feel. The property has a lovely outdoor sitting area which acts as a nice garden for the kids to play and have fish and chips suppers listening to the waves. Inside, the property is laid out well. We liked the kitchen being partitioned and the layout of the lounge. The bathroom is a touch too small for the loo and shower, but each bedroom is adequately sized. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely position of the chalet, great for a family and comfortable. Its not luxury hotel standard but has all your needs for a self contained holiday and a great location for Hayle beach or surrounding areas.

We were moved when chalet owner was doing work on one of the other chalets that we had booked. We were very lucky as Trezaren was very nice. Lots of space for 2 people. The panoramic view across bay was wonderful. The grass area over looking bay was a great place to eat and relax.

The chalet park is lovely and quiet with most if not all chalets having a picturesque view over St Ives bay. We stayed in B25 Trezaren which had an amazing view of the bay from both the open plan living area and the kitchen, and can sleep up to 6 people (two doubles and one room with bunk beds). This park is perfect for people wanting a quieter holiday with none of the entertainment other holiday parks have to offer. Our particular chalet has space to comfortably park two vehicles close by which made it so easy for us with a baby. There is a narrow path very close by down to the beautiful beach, this would be unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs and includes very tall steps too however a short walk down the road brings you to other paths to the beach which are easier to manage. The park is close to Lidl for shopping and the rest of Hayle town where they also have an Asda. A trip to St Ives took about 20 minutes to drive which made a lovely day out. There are also lots of attractions within an hour drive including Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Healey’s Cyder Farm. The chalet itself was well equipped with all the cutlery, crockery and glassware as well as kitchen utensils and pots and pans. There are electric heaters in all rooms if needed. The three bedrooms all have clothes storage, bedside lamp and mirror. We had plenty of space to put up a travel cot in our double room for the baby and still have a narrow walkway around the bed. The hot water for the sinks are provided by a water heater under the kitchen sink however the capacity is great enough to fill the sink for washing up. The shower is electric therefore there is no problem with hot water when everyone wants to shower in the morning/evening. I would not hesitate to book through Tom’s Holidays again and would definitely recommend both them as the agent and the chalet we stayed in.
