The Location
The holiday park is one of the oldest in the country, with the first chalets constructed in the early 1920s. Now a beautiful site with a vast range of unique, quirky and privately owned accommodation, including beach chalets, bungalows and lodges. Many have stunning sea views and all are within a few minutes walk of the beach.

On the doorstep
Walk the coastal path at low tide all the way along the beach from Hayle river mouth to the Cliff tops of Godrevy and the surf break at Gwithian where you’ll find great food and drinks from cocktails to coffees, ice creams and fresh seafood at the local cafes and restaurants.
For those seeking surf, beginners to experienced surfers and bodyboarders can enjoy doorstep breaks at Hayle Rivermouth and Mexico Towans, both within walking distance of the park. Paddle boarding and kayaking on the Estuary, as well as kitesurfing and windsurfing are popular all year round.
Hayle is home to the RSPB Hayle Estuary Reserve, Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Hayle Lido, ice cream parlours, gift shops, great food (including Cornwall’s best Pasties from Philps), pubs and supermarkets.

Further Afield
Take the coastal train from Lelant to St. Ives, and visit The Tate & Barbara Hepworth museums. Visit Newlyn Harbour and Fish market for the best in Cornish Fish. Wander around the historical market town of Penzance, taking in the Harbour and Egyptian House or take a day trip to Lands End and coastal walk to Sennen Cove.
Find your way to Knill's Monument and Steeple Woodland Nature reserve, a 40 acre public open space which overlooks St Ives Bay before making your way down to Carbis Bay for fabulous food, drinks and its sheltered beach.
Cornwall has always been a favourite of artists, writers and film producers and its rugged coasts and beautiful coves have featured in numerous films and TV series most recently, the popular Poldark series. Whether it is a relaxing break or a more action packed holiday you are seeking, Toms Holidays at Riviere Towans is the ideal destination.

Winter stays at Riviere Towans
Riviere Towans is a great choice for your winter break, but it’s also the period that our owners tend to build and renovate, and when essential land maintenance and roadworks are done. Disruptions and sound may affect neighbouring properties, so please get in touch with us before booking if you are concerned.
The winter season runs from the 1st November until the 1st April OR a week before Good Friday, whichever is earlier.
All the properties we manage are self-contained and self-catering. All the kitchen equipment you will require for your stay is provided in the property. All properties include a microwave, TV, iron and heating to name but a few of the basics. A large number also include washing machines but do check the property particulars above.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Riviere Towans, the views across the bay to St Ives are out of this world and the beaches are beautiful, this part of the world is second to none.

We just spent a week in D45 with my granddaughter and her friend and we had a fabulous week. What a lovely seaside spot, with amazing views over St. Ives Bay. super clean and tidy. Lovely big towels and beds were clean and fresh. We chose to park at the beach car park for the whole day, otherwise bit of a trek with all the stuff, then it's just a short walk to the beach which goes on for miles. lifeguards on duty. Great waves for body boarding. we loved the views in the evening and watched the sunset across the bay, just perfect. The location is great for the beach and exploring the coast, but honestly, when the weather is good you don't need to go far. My granddaughter loves riding so treated her to a beach ride at Reen Manor Staples about a 25-minute drive. We enjoyed Sully's fish and chips just down the road. Owners installed a washing line whilst we were there, which was certainly useful. Thanks, I would highly recommend this chalet. The site is quiet, safe and well maintained. 5*

Medina is a wonderful chalet, layout well thought out, and lots of lovely touches. Our daughter loved all the plants scattered throughout the chalet. It’s beautifully designed and perfect for small families. The beach is a short walk, and the location of the chalet has great sea views towards St Ives. Thank you and will be back again soon.

This is a beautiful quiet location with stunning! Views from inside and outside the property, we enjoyed our 5 minute walk up and down the hill to the beach it’s certainly good exercise. The property has everything you need. We were very lucky with a week of sunshine. We would definitely return as we had an amazing time on the beautiful light sandy beach and Hayle is a lovely town.

The views at this cabin are amazing. I loved the table seat to watch the ocean. However storage was an issue I felt some of the items could be removed. Also parking on the park should be more clearly defined.

We really enjoy our stay in the little holiday house near Hayle. The house is small but very nice. It has everything you need for a relax holiday. The view especially the sunset has been marvellous. It was wonderful to sit at the breakfast or dinner table and had the ocean view. The beaches and wave spots in the area are perfect for kiting or surfing. Just have in mind that you need to have a permit to kitesurf in the river mouth. The communication with Jess from Tom‘s holiday was also easy and kind. We definitely recommend the holiday house.

Whilst the cabin is small it has been furnished to make the most of the space and with lots of contemporary touches that make it feel a little bit special. The beds have nice linen and are very comfortable. The bathroom is surprisingly roomy with a good shower and the little kitchenette is surprisingly well equipped - we comfortably cooked for four of us in the and ate looking at the views of the sea from the diner style banquette. The beach is easily walked to down through the dunes and when you pop out at the end of the path the endless stretch of sand is just breath taking. There are beautiful grasses and sea pinks and it is just stunning to walk around. Plus a great restaurant at either end if you don't feel like cooking. It was really easy to check in and out and we were prompted with messages to get in touch if we needed. All in all a great couple of days. I would definitely stay at a little cabin in the dunes again.

Perfect hideaway!! Excellent location ~ easy to find (use the coordinates given, this takes you right to the door) The View from the living room window is stunning, perfect to open the doors on the evening and watch the sun go down listening to the sea. Beautifully decorated ~ pics hadn't been updated, it Is now very modern whites, greys and black. Lovely suprise when we opened the door It was very clean, has a well equipped kitchen and a TV. All linen was provided, as well as towels Any budding artists, open the bottom cupboard on the left under the TV, loads of art supplies for you to create a master piece ~ we enjoyed looking through the book Location ~ Its a few minutes walk to the beach. There is a shop nearby that sells all essentials , as well as an Asda and Lidl a couple of minutes drive away Hayle was a great base for us to get out and about to other towns. There is a cute little coastal train that takes you from St Erth to Carbis Bay and St Ives, fantastic views of the beaches and saves the hassle of trying to park In St Ives (It was £10 for all day parking and open returns for 1 adult and 1 child) Tom's Holidays was brilliant at communicating, very quick to answer a query before we arrived and the odd check in message throughout our stay Highly recommend staying here!

A great chalet with lovely beach views.

My husband and I stayed in D45 Medina chalet and it didn’t disappoint, set on a hill with steps leading up to it, parking was directly at the bottom of the steps at the end of the cul de sac, there’s only just room for 3 cars which we thought were just for the 3 chalets nearby but be warned if you go out you may lose your space as it the spaces can be used by other chalets in the vicinity, we had no probs though, the chalet was very well equipped, cleaned to a high standard and had plenty of room for the two of us, bed and pillows were comfortable, the views from inside & outside the chalet are just outstanding, you can see the sea from your bed, how awesome is that! You can even see St Michael’s mount from the decking at the side, we spent most nights watching the beautiful sunsets over St Ives...pure heaven, there’s a picnic bench outside and a rotary washing line which were useful, it’s set on a hill hence the amazing views, so ground is a bit uneven & could have done with being mowed in some areas to make the area bigger. 15 minute walk into Hayle via the path at the back of the site which goes past the cricket club and down to the North Quay, the Phillack Road which goes past the Bucket of Blood pub can be a bit scary on the part with no path, especially at night. This has been our second visit to this wonderful site ( first time with Toms)it’s so peaceful & unlike the rowdy holiday parks, everyone is so respectful and staff are very friendly & always there to help. We will certainly be returning and would definitely book with Toms again!

The chalet is in the most amazing location with the view of dreams! We just loved it so much. It has all you need and more in a small and quirky hut. You just could not improve on it as the whole package is a true experience. Like tasting a little bit of past history by the sea.

We stayed at pretty Chalet Medina - D45, which is up on the hill, with a commanding view westwards. We found the site clean, relaxing and quiet - just how we like it. Life in the dunes, or Towans in Cornish, is a throwback to happy family holidays of my childhood and I loved the atmosphere. The beach is a wide expanse of sand and the water stays shallow a fair way out so good for swimming, paddling and beach games. There's a pub by the shore access but also some good places to eat nearby in Hayle and St Ives.

Nice clean well-presented fantastic sea views we are going back this year for a week and a week elsewhere on the site. Overall a great place to stay and we have already recommended to other people.
